The Clitoris – briefly worded
Glans Clitoris
The Glans Clitoris is more or less visible. She sits beneath a hood (prepuce) formed by the junction of the inner labia, is attached to the pubic bone by a ligament and surrounded by a capsule of fibroelastic tissue. The Glans is not erectile in nature but is in direct continuity with the erectile bodies to which she attaches. She contains numerous sensory receptors which provide deep sensation and sense vibration.
The Glans Clitoris surmounts the Body of the Clitoris:
Body (or Shaft) of the Clitoris
You can feel the Body of the Clitoris under the flesh, if you pull back the hood it is possibly partly visible. The Body of the Clitoris consists of erectile connective tissue and is surrounded by a capsule of fibroelastic tissue like the Glans. It is said to be pyramidical shaped, about as big as the first joint of your thumb (1-2 cm long, 2-4 cm wide).
Extending from the Body are the Arms and Bulbs of the Clitoris:
Arms or Legs or Twin Crura or Roots of the Clitoris
Two arms flare backwards into the body towards the ends of the muscles that run up the inside of the thighs. They consist of erectile tissue. Like Glans and Body of the Clitoris they are surrounded by a capsule of fibroelastic tissue. They are pproximatly 9 cm long - most probably no two pairs are the same.
Bulbs of the Clitoris
Extending from the Body of the Clitoris there are two Bulbs. Lying behind the Labia they fill the space between Body and Arms of the Clitoris, split and reach deep into the body down towards your pelvic floor. Each on one side they pass by the urethra, thus surrounding the urethra on three sides. Both Bulbs consist of erectile tissue, surrounded by highly sensitive, delicate, thin skin (not by a capsule like Glans, Body and Arms of the Clitoris). They are about 2-7 cm long, who knows how big they get when aroused!
Nerves, bloodstream, lymphs, glands...
There is still a lot to be explored. What we learned by now is that the Clitoris has a fare highter amount of nerves than for example the tips of your fingers. A realistic map of the whole area is terrible missing.
"A New View of a Woman's Body" (Feminist Health Press, L.A. 1991) also mentions the Urehtral Sponge as being a part of Clitoris. This sponge surrounds the urethra from the urethral opening along the urethra into the body. Like the other erectile tissues it fills with blood during sexual excitement. You can feel ist by inserting two fingers into your vagina and pressing up towards the pubic bone. There is also a perineal sponge – you can feel it while pressing down towards your anus.
It would be hardly surprising if there was much more to the Clitoris than yet discovered.
And if you think, the Clitoris looks pretty much like a penis – be assured, there is not much of a difference, she is just differtently organized!

Eine kurze Beschreibung der Klitoris
Klitoris-Kopf oder Glans Klitoris
Der Klitoris-Kopf ist mehr oder weniger sichtbar. Er sitzt unter der Haube, die vom Zusammentreffen der inneren Charme-Lippen gebildet wird, ist durch ein Ligament – einem elastischen Strang aus Bindegewebe – am Charme-Bein befestigt und von einer Bindegewebskapsel umgeben. Der Klitoris-Kopf selbst ist nicht erektil sondern reagiert auf die Aktionen der erektilen Teile, mit denen er verbunden ist. Er beinhaltet eine grosse Anzahl von sensorischen Rezeptoren die auf Vibrationen reagieren und diese weiterleiten.
An den Klitoris-Kopf schliesst der Klitoris-Körper an:
Klitoris-Körper
Er kann unter dem Gewebe ertastet werden und ist manchmal, etwa wenn die Haube über dem Klitoris-Kopf zurückgezogen wird, auch teilweise sichtbar. Der Klitoris-Körper besteht aus erektilem Bindegewebe (Schwellkörper) und ist wie der Kopf von einer Bindegewebskapsel umgeben. Es heisst, dass er die Form einer Pyramide hat und ungefähr so gross wie der das erste Glied des Daumens ist, also ca. 1-2 cm lang und 2-4 cm breit.
An den Klitoris-Körper schliessen die Klitoris-Arme und -Zwiebeln an:
Klitoris-Arme oder -Beine oder -Wurzeln
Zwei Arme erweitern die Klitoris tief in den Körper. Sie reichen bis zu den Enden der Muskeln an der Innenseite der Schenkel. Sie bestehen aus Schwellkörpern und sind ebenso wie Kopf und Körper von einer Bindegewebskapsel umhüllt. Sie sind ca. 9 cm lang und vermutlich gleicht kein Paar dem anderen.
Klitoris-Ziebeln oder -Birnen oder -Bulben
Die Klitoris-Zwiebeln hängen am Klitoris-Körper. Hinter den Charme-Lippen liegend füllen sie den Raum zwischen Klitoris-Körper und Klitoris-Armen und erstrecken sich tief in den Körper und nach unten Richtung Beckenboden. Zwischen den Klitoris-Ziebeln ist die Harnröhre eingebettet, sie umschliessen die Harnröhre also von drei Seiten. Beide Zwiebeln bestehen aus Schwellkörpern und sind - anders als Klitoris-Kopf, -Körper und –Arme – von einer empfindlichen, dünnen Haut umgeben. Sie sind ca. 2-7 cm lang und bei Erregung sicher um vieles grösser.
Nerven, Blutbahnen, Lymphe, Drüsen...
Es gibt noch viel zu erforschen über die Klitoris. Es ist bekannt, dass die Klitoris eine viel die höhere Nervendichte hat als zb die Fingerspitzen. Aber die Anatomie verfügt bis jetzt über keine umfassendes Kartografie der Klitoris.
In "A New View of a Woman's Body" (Feminist Health Press, L.A. 1991) wird auch der Harnleiter-Schwellkörper als Teil der Klitoris erwähnt. Diese Schwellkörper umgeben den Harnleiter von der Harnöffnung beginnend bis tief in den Körper hinein. Wie die anderen erektilen Bindegewebe füllt er sich bei sexueller Erregung mit Blut. Er ist spürbar wenn zwei Finger in die Vagina eingeführt und Richtung Charmehügel gedrückt werden. Ein anderer Schwellkörper befindet sich beim Damm – er ist spürbar wenn die Finger in der Vagina nach unten Richtung Anus gedrückt werden.
Es wäre wenig überraschend, wenn die Klitoris noch weit umfangreicher ist als bisher erforscht. Und falls der Eindruck entsteht, dass die Klitoris wie ein Penis aussieht: der Unterschied ist tatsächlich gering, sie ist nur unterschiedlich organisiert!
